An opportunity has arisen for two bright individuals to join our team as the festival’s PR Assistants. This position will suit those that want to kick start a career in PR or develop their portfolio. You must be well presented with strong communication skills and a good understanding of the creative industries and media within.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with the festival director and programmer to:

- Identify opportunities to generate publicity and raise the festival’s profile.

- Respond to media enquiries.

- Maintain press database.

- Write, edit and distribute press releases.

- Liaise with press contacts to generate publicity for each area of the festival programme to reach different audiences.

- Research industry news for the news page.

- Write and edit feature articles for the festival blog.

- Identify and develop proactive media stories.

- Attend events on behalf of the festival.

Committment

We would expect a commitment of around 5 – 7 hours per week working from home or the festival’s HQ between January – September 2012.

Expenses

We can cover expenses for travel to meetings, the office and other costs incurred such as phone bills as agreed in advance.
